UNC Swahili Intercultural Experience in Kenya

Program Description: This seven week faculty led study abroad program introduces you to the art, culture, and langauge of the East Africa region. The selected excursions for this program enhance the learning and understanding of the history, socio-political and economic life of the Swahili people and their interactions with the world.

UNC Honors in Cape Town


Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Program Description: Honors Semester in Cape Town aims to immerse you into the living history of South Africa by directly involving you in institutions that are helping to create a democratic civil society. On this program, you will work four days a week with a non-governmental or government agency that best suits your interests and skills. Internships are available in the following fields: Public Health, Education, Children's rights, Public Policy, Conflict Resolution, Legal Advocacy and Human Rights, Development Agencies, Media and Journalism, Environmental Conservation and Ecology, City Planning, Gender-based Programs, the Arts, and more.
